About the Peace Course:
The International Institute of Peace and Development Studies (IIPDS) is calling for applications from peace activists, community development workers, scholars, journalists, religious leaders and students for its next School of Peace Studies and Conflict Transformation Course.
The two-weeks course will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, from February 22nd to March 5th, 2020. It will include workshops, lectures and exposure visits to local communities and peace initiatives.
Initiated in 2006, the course on Peace Studies and Conflict Transformation is the cornerstone of the programs of the International Institute of Peace and Development Studies, one of the main training centers in South-East Asia.
What do we offer?
Since its debut in 2005, the annual peace studies programs have empowered a network of community leaders, activists, and scholars from across the globe.
The School of Peace Studies and Conflict Transformation focuses on understanding peace and conflict in local, regional and international contexts, conflict analysis, its positive transformation and violence prevention. Participants will gain skills relevant to peacebuilding and creative peace advocacy and actions from grassroots, national and international levels.
Women and community workers from conflict areas are particularly encouraged to apply.
About the International Institute of Peace and Development Studies (IIPDS):
The Institute aims to empower women, men, youth, children, social and human rights workers, scholars, researchers, faith and community-based leaders, promoting the principles of humanity, solidarity, and inclusion.
The International Institute of Peace and Development Studies was born in 2004 from a joint initiative of the Asian Resource Foundation (ARF) and the Asian Muslim Action Network (AMAN) and offers courses during all year.
The Asian Muslim Action Network promotes progressive teachings of Islam and forges inter-faith collaboration while the Asian Resource Foundation is engaged in education for children and undergraduate students. ARF has been offering humanitarian assistance in 60 countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

– Social engagement in peace and development works
– Good command of English
– Leadership quality and potential to be an agent of change
– Ability to work for peace activity after the graduation of the course
