Since its debut in 2005, the annual peace studies programs have empowered a network of community leaders, activists, and scholars from across the globe.
The School of Peace Studies and Conflict Transformation focuses on understanding peace and conflict in local, regional and international contexts, conflict analysis, its positive transformation and violence prevention. Participants will gain skills relevant to peacebuilding and creative peace advocacy and actions from grassroots, national and international levels.
Initiated in 2006, the course on Peace Studies and Conflict Transformation is the cornerstone of the programs of the International Institute of Peace and Development Studies, one of the main training centers in South-East Asia. The two-week course takes place in IIPDS training center in Bangkok, Thailand. It includes workshops, lectures and exposure visits to local communities and peace initiatives.
Eligibility
Young leaders, community workers, scholars, teachers, post graduate students, NGO and social workers, and persons with relevant background and keen interest in approaching peacebuilding creatively.
In order to be considered eligible to apply, you must fulfill the following criteria:
- Socially engaged in peace and development works
- A good command of English
- Possess a leadership quality and potential to be an agent of change
- Ability to work for peace activity after graduation of the course
